Emily: I am involved in many sports at Civic Memorial High School including volleyball, basketball, and soccer. I am also in FCA, or Fellowship of Christian Athletes. This project is important to me, personally, because the kids in need remind me of the kids that I saw when I was younger. I used to go to the Boys and Girls Club everyday after school. Everybody would do the same thing. We'd go to a room and do our homework and whenever a worker checked it, we could go play games, inside or out, eat, or talk to friends. I always noticed that some kids didn't have anything to do. I would like to see all of the kids who are there today be fortunate enough to be able to do all of these things. I think that it is important to bring awareness about this to our community so that more people can make a difference in these kids' lives.
Kennedy: I'm a student athlete at Civic Memorial. I'm a varsity cheerleader for football, basketball, and competition. I am involved with Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) and Student Council. I'm also the freshman class president. I'd like to see this project go through because I enjoy helping others and seeing them succeed. I can't wait to see the look on the kids faces when they earn a prize by playing the games at our carnival.
