Welcome back to my blog! We have made a lot of progress and are very excited for the upcoming week. We have set a date for our project and couldn’t be more excited to go to the boys and girls club to hang out with the kids. We did have to change our goal a little bit though. Instead of doing carnival games with prizes we are just going to do a few games with the kids and bring candy and have prizes for the kids. We plan to use things that we already have at our houses for the games and instead of using the money we collected to buy prizes and games we are going to donate the money. This way the club can use the money however they feel it is needed. We hope to accomplish our goal of creating a fun environment for the kids to have fun in and helping out the kids in our community who attend the club by giving out donations to the club. We are also excited to see what the kids think of our project and if they had fun.

Hi, welcome back to my blog! In these past couple of weeks we have made some progress and we have also had a couple of set backs. When we contacted the event coordinator this past week she told us that we would most likely need to change the date for our project due to the fact that the kids would not be at the Boys and Girls Club at the time. We are currently looking at our individual schedules to see if we have a date that would work for us so that we can all attend the carnival. This was a major setback because we have a lot of things to do in the upcoming weeks so we need to get a new date set quickly so we do not run into conflicts with our sports and out of school activities. Although this was a big setback for our project we have been able to get more donations in the past weeks and have been able to get the word out about our project to other students. We have also been in communication with the event coordinator to try and figure out a new date as we try and continue to move forward with the rest of our project. In this upcoming week we plan to get a lot of things done. We plan to set a new date for our carnival and we also plan to start getting the prizes and games ready for the carnival. Welcome back to my blog! This past week we have done some very important things for our project. We got in contact with the event coordinator to figure out dates that would work for both parties for our carnival. We have also set up another donation box in Ace Tech, located in Bethalto. Later in the week we also got back into contact with the coordinator from the Boys and Girls Club and picked a date for the which worked for both of us based on our schedules and the number of kids we could accommodate with our budget we have for the “carnival”, which we are so excited for! Currently we plan to continue coming up with new prizes and games for our event to make it more enjoyable for the kids. We are also going to continue communicating with the event coordinator at the club to make sure everything stays on track with our project and so we can make sure everything will work that we have in mind for the project. In the future of our project we plan on setting aside a day to go up to the Club so we can see how much room we have for the carnival and what we have to work with. Another important thing we plan to do in the next couple of weeks is to start collecting the money from the donation boxes and start getting the prizes for the carnival, along with what materials we will need for the games. We are so excited to see how it will turn out and how the kids will enjoy the event.
Welcome back to my blog and Happy New Year! This year I want to be more active with our project and to get back on track with our project. We started out without any idea of what to do for our project and it took us a really long time to think of our plan. During the previous stages in our project my role was to call and organize the event. This was a some what difficult job, only because of my specific time restraints. At this point in our project we are finally starting to get back on the right track and are beginning to get things moving. Our idea is still the same and we are still very excited about our project. My current role in the project is to come up with more ideas of ways to help make the project run smoothly and to find times that are convenient to hold the event. Our goal for the end of this project is to create a fun event for the kids at our local Boys and Girls Club where they can just come and have some fun. We are extremely happy that we get to hold an event for the kids in our area and try and make some kids happy. Moving on in the future of this project I can continue to come up with more ideas and stay on track with the flow of our project.
This week my group and I have been trying to find a good time to call the boys and club and talk to the event coordinator, but all of our group members are very busy with extracurricular activities and lots of school projects. It is very hard to find the time to call, because the event coordinator is only at the club when we are at practice or during school hours. Today we are going to set aside time right after our practice to contact them and try and organize our project. Once we get a hold of them and find out if we can work something out for our project and then start advertising where and when the event will take place. In the mean time we have been coming up with more games and prize ideas for the event. Considering donations, we have collected at least 20 dollars from the donation box that we put in Wendy's hair salon in Bethalto. We are also working on setting up a donation box in Ace Tech, which is also located in Bethalto. We are going to use the donations that we receive to purchase the items that we will need to create and set up the games. We are also going to use the donations to get prizes for the kids when they win a game.
Since my last post I have tried to get in touch with the boys and girls club, but was unsuccessful. We are going to try and get in touch with them this week and try to set up a date and time for our event. In the mean time we are going to keep trying to think of games and prizes that we could set up for the kids to win. We also need to figure out where we are going to have the event at. Another thing that we have done in the past week is that we have set up a donation box in Wendy's Hair Salon in Bethalto. With other donation places in mind we are trying to find more places where we can set up donations. We may encounter a few obstacles this week. One of these obstacles would be getting a hold of the boys and girls club. Another problem that we may encounter would be that the club will not let us have the event, in which we would have to come up with a new idea for our project.
Hi! My name is Lauren and this is my blog. I am a freshman at Civic Memorial High School. Our 20Time Project is called “Carni At The Club” and we are very excited to get started. We are organizing an event at our local Boys and Girls Club for the kids that attend their after school. The event will be a carnival with certain games for the kids to play and prizes for them to win. We came up with the idea for this project because we realized that they were lots of kids in our community that we could reach. This week I am going to call the Boys and Girls Club to set up the event. I will discuss a time and place that would be good for both of us. Next week we are going to start organizing donations and where we are going to collect them.
